Savory Simmer

Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Savory Simmer, a private recipe bank, weekly meal planner, and shopping-list tool. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use Savory Simmer.

Recipes are parsed by AI — check them before you cook

Savory Simmer uses AI to read recipes, and AI gets things wrong. A quantity, a unit, an ingredient name, or a whole step can be misread, dropped, or invented — including when importing from a video or a photo.

Always check an imported recipe against its original source before cooking, and especially before serving anyone with a food allergy or intolerance. Savory Simmer's ingredient list is not a reliable allergen record and must never be used as one. Do not rely on it for any medical, dietary, or safety decision.

You are responsible for what you cook and serve. To the fullest extent the law allows, Savory Simmer's operator is not liable for any harm arising from a misparsed recipe.

Your recipes are yours. The operator claims no ownership of them and does not publish, republish, sell, or show them to other users. Everything you save is private to your account.

Acceptable use

Don't use Savory Simmer to break the law, to store or import illegal material, to attack or overload the service, to get around its usage limits, or to scrape it at scale.

Free and paid plans

Savory Simmer is currently free. The free plan includes your first 10 AI-powered recipe imports and the planner for this week and next week; writing recipes in by hand is unlimited. Paid plans are not yet available; if they are introduced, the price and what it includes will be stated clearly before you are ever asked to pay, and existing free functionality will not be taken away retroactively without notice.

Availability

Savory Simmer is offered as-is and as-available, with no uptime guarantee. It is a small independent project: features may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. If it were ever shut down, you would be given reasonable notice and a chance to export your recipes. Savory Simmer is not a backup service — keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the account menu in the app. It is immediate and permanent — every recipe, plan, and list goes with it, and it cannot be recovered. The operator may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Savory Simmer's operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for anything arising from your reliance on an AI-parsed recipe. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the EU, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected by these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.

Changes

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and you will be told in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Savory Simmer after that means you accept the new terms.

Who you are contracting with, and how to reach them

Savory Simmer is operated under the trading name Savory Simmer, the Netherlands. It is an independent personal project, not a registered company. For anything at all — including a rights-holder request — write to hello@savorysimmer.com.
